9.4ºC Sunny and getting warmer, except for the
chilly wind. Set off at 9.30am. Mike untied and went across the big winding hole
to zap the post, the lock emptied - 47 Messein and we went up 1.6m. The house
alongside was bricked up. 2.3kms to lock 46 Mereville, a deep one 4m. Mike
climbed the ladder, glad this one was dry. We left the top at 10.15am and we
tied up a few minutes later by the junction with the Nancy branch in Richardménil.
